Over the past week, we’ve read about people who encountered God in the middle of hard circumstances. We saw them change their perspective, lean into praise, and obey even when it was difficult. Financial worries, a serious medical diagnosis, and broken relationships are hard to endure on a good day. Even more so if you feel isolated and alone.
Isaiah the prophet and the apostle Peter remind us that we’re not alone. We’re never alone. Jesus knows what it means to suffer. He suffered for our sake, to take away the just punishment for our sins. His death brought us peace. He died so that we can live for righteousness. Later, in 1 Peter 5:10, Peter tells us, “In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
Maybe you are suffering hardship right now. If not, you likely will in the future. As you endure, look to the God whose love never fails and whose mercies are new every morning, and remember that you are not alone.
If you are struggling today, reach out. We would love to pray with you!
