All of us at some point struggle with deciding something important in our lives, knowing what to do in a difficult situation, or knowing what to say when trying to help a friend in need. But what we need in these situations isn’t just knowledge. We need the ability to apply our knowledge correctly to move forward and make the best choice. That’s wisdom.
God promises to grant us wisdom when we ask for it - just look at King Solomon’s story! When God told the very young, newly appointed king in a dream to ask for whatever he wants, Solomon asked for “a discerning heart to govern [God’s] people and to distinguish between right and wrong.” This is wisdom. And God grants it to Solomon, who went down in history as the wisest of Israel’s kings.
So, when we face a tough decision, have a friend who needs help, or find ourselves between a rock and a hard place, we can go to God in prayer and ask for his wisdom. Today, approach God with humility and openness, trusting that he will provide the insight you need to navigate life's challenges. Where do you need God’s wisdom today and how can you pray for it in the days to come?
