Day 8 | Why Christians Live Differently

Read

If someone watched your life for a full week without knowing you're a Christian, would anything give it away? Not a cross necklace or a Bible on your desk—the way you actually treat people and the choices you make each day.

Ephesians 1:4 says, "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes" (Ephesians 1:4, NLT). You hear the word holy and think perfect—never messing up, always having it together. But holy means set apart, and being set apart really just comes down to knowing who you belong to.

Look at what Paul says: before God ever made the world, he loved you and chose you. Before you accomplished a single thing, before you got your act together, he chose you. When that sinks in, it changes how you live—not because you're meticulously following a list of rules so God will finally approve of you, but because you already have his approval.

There'll still be days your life doesn't match what you believe. You'll mess up. But perfection was never the point. The point is letting who you belong to shape who you are and who you're becoming.

Reflect: Where do you belong to Jesus but haven't been living like it? Pick one area, and name one thing you could do differently today.
