It's easy to feel close to God in the extremes—the times when your prayers are obviously answered, or the hard stretches when your need for God is impossible to ignore. What's tricky is the in-between. What does walking with God look like when life is just normal? When your week is quantified in a schedule or a to-do list, and your evenings disappear into dinner and laundry before it all starts over?
God isn't only found in the obvious spiritual moments. He's with you in every moment—even the ones that feel too inconsequential to pray about. Micah 6:8 keeps it simple: "The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8, NLT).
Notice the word walk. Walking is ongoing—daily, one step at a time. You don't get closer to God by sprinting after spiritual highs, but through steady, consistent steps. So pick one ordinary moment today, like your commute or a mindless chore, and talk to Jesus in it.
Reflect: What's one ordinary part of your day today where you could talk to Jesus like he's right there with you?
