It's easy to watch a professional singer or athlete that and think, I've got nothing like that. No standout skill, nothing that feels worth celebrating.
Here's the catch: you probably already have a gift. You just haven't clocked it yet. God doesn't skip people when he's handing out gifts. He equipped you, specifically, for something. You were never ungifted; you just might not know what to look for.
And whatever that gift is, it was never meant to stop with you. 1 Peter 4:10 says, "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another" (1 Peter 4:10, NLT). You're a steward of what God gave you, not the owner—someone who takes care of what belongs to another and puts it to work. Your patience, or the way you notice when someone's struggling, was put in you for the people around you who need exactly that.
Still can't name your gift? Ask someone who knows you well: "What do you think I'm good at that I might not see in myself?" Then just listen. Don't argue with it or wave it off. That answer is a clue to who God built you to be.
Reflect: Who knows you well enough to name a strength you can't see in yourself—and what's keeping you from asking them this week?
