Lyrics from Beauty In The Death (Live) by LCBC Worship:
There was a day when hope felt lost
A perfect savior endured a cross
In His arms He carried death
But the cross was not his final place of rest
For He knew there was a plan
The Holy Father redeeming man
It was love upon a tree
And through sorrow it is finished and complete
There is beauty in the death
Where grace and mercy paid my debt
Where love atoned to set me free
Oh in His death there is beauty
The story of Jesus’ death and resurrection is crazy for us to imagine, but it is a foundational truth. We believe that God himself came down in the form of a man and died on a cross to redeem mankind. And because of that sacrifice, because he embraced death, we now have life through his resurrection.
Whenever God is in a situation, as dark as it may seem, he always brings light. In fact, John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” There are very few topics as dark as death, but while death can be a sad and morbid reality, we have a God who has defeated it and has turned it into a beautiful thing for those who put their hope and trust in Jesus.
Death for the believer no longer has a sting of finality. Grace and mercy converged on the cross so that we could be reconciled to a loving God. In his death there is beauty.
