1 Corinthians 13:4-7 is a verse you’ve probably heard read at a wedding or two. It paints a beautiful picture of love and all that it encompasses.

But this verse isn’t specifically about romantic love. It’s just about love. And it speaks into the way you can show up in love for your kids.

It’s probably safe to assume you love your kids. But life can get chaotic as a parent, and if we’re not careful we can stop demonstrating that we love them. Saying it is one thing—showing it daily is another thing. Every act—comforting, playing, listening, and encouraging—shapes your child’s sense of worth and security. Love “always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” The way we show love to our kids follows the model God designed for us and points back to his character, his ways, and his love for them, too.

Kids shouldn’t assume their parents love them. They should know they do. The ways you show love may change as your kids grow up, but they will never stop needing that reminder.

Today's Tip: Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 again. What does it say about how to demonstrate love? Choose one (like patience, forgiveness, or hope) and act intentionally to show your kids love in that way today.
