Read 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Keep It Up
In 1 Thessalonians, the Apostle Paul was writing to a group of Christians living in the first-century city of Thessalonica. In the midst of this letter, Paul takes the time to remind the believers to “encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
Notice, Paul wasn’t giving them a new command.
He wasn’t telling them they had to clean up their act or that they were missing it.
He was saying, “Way to go! You’re already doing it - so keep going!”
When it comes to using words of affirmation (or any of the love languages), it can be easy to start strong and then slip back into old habits over time.
Keep going. Keep encouraging!
