Bible Reading / LCBC: Why We Exist

Day 2: What We Believe

1COR.15

Read: 1 Corinthians 15

In 1 Corinthians 15, we read about the resurrection of Jesus (referenced in Matthew 28). This chapter highlights the truth behind the event and why it’s so important - and it reminds us that a lot of people saw Jesus after his resurrection, and could vouch for its authenticity.

Paul - the author of this chapter - is talking directly to the people who were alive when all of this happened, and he’s essentially daring them to track down the people who can confirm that Jesus really did rise from the dead. He calls this message “Good News” and pleads with the reader to believe what he’s saying. Just like Paul, as a church LCBC really believes in what happened to Jesus - and we want everyone else to believe it too! Sharing the Good News is the most important thing that a follower of Jesus can do, because it will impact a person’s life for eternity.

That’s why LCBC is so passionate about the first part of our mission - to introduce people to Jesus.
