Joshua
Moses led the people of Israel to the edge of the land they were to inhabit and sent advance scouts to report back on what they found. In chapter 13, these scouts returned and reported that the land was rich in produce but the people of Israel would never be able to live there due to the people already living there. Joshua was one of these scouts, but he had faith that God could give them a land to live in, even though the land was occupied by a group of strong people. Because of Joshua’s faith, God says Joshua will enter the land God promised Israel.
Joshua was one of a handful of people to believe God’s promise. It’s not easy to stand for what is right when almost everyone else is doing the opposite. Would you have openly expressed your faith in God when everyone else was expressing fear?
