Read:
Toward the end of their journey, the Israelites got tired and impatient. They started to lose sight of all God had done along the way to provide for them and keep them safe. (They even complained about the Manna God provided for them to eat!) Turning against God wasn’t without consequence – poisonous snakes surrounded them, and many people were bitten and killed.
That was the wake-up call they needed to cry out for help. But sometimes God answers prayers in ways we don’t expect, and this was one of those times. He didn’t make the snakes disappear like he was asked. Instead, he made a way for people to be healed by the snakes – but it required faith.
Jesus points back to this moment. Through his sacrifice on the cross, everyone who looks to him in faith will find ultimate healing. Not just healing from the wounds of our sins and mistakes, but from death itself.
God’s heart is always to bring restoration and life. Where do you need his healing today? Talk to him and ask him to bring restoration. Thank him for the healing you already have in Jesus.
